Practical uses for VOIP
We have all been reading about VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) lately, but what can it actually do for you in terms of efficiency and cost savings? We can share some real world, local cases where it made practical sense to use VOIP. We can also help you steer clear of unneeded VOIP investments where a “traditional” approach would be more appropriate for your situation. One area of practical use for VOIP is the “Home Office” or “Satellite Office”. For example, I have a home office where we installed a VOIP phone that emulates my desk phone at our main office. It looks the same as my regular office desk phone. I can make and receive calls from my home office exactly as though I were at work. Many of you have probably spoken to me while I was at home without knowing it!
Another application involves one of our real estate customers who opened a small "satellite" office with about four agents.
Management wants the agents to seamlessly connect to the main office phone system as though they are physically located in the main office. Solution: A VOIP phone for each agent at the satellite office. This provides seamless connectivity to the main office and prevents our customer from having to purchase an entire phone and voice mail system for only four agents!
